Intarsia by Bob Karau
Bob Karau created this piece using a 16th century Italian art form called Intarsia. Intarsia is a woodworking technique that uses varied shapes, sizes and species of wood that are cut and then fitted together to create a three-dimensional, mosaic-like picture. The pieces, once cut, are individually sanded and assembled using their natural grain and natural colors to create variations in the design. No stains are use. |
