Ilene has volunteered with the Alaska and Oregon Becoming an Outdoor Woman programs, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Casting for Recovery teaching women and men how to fly fish and tie flies. She has most recently volunteered with Project Healing Waters helping disabled veterans learn how to fly fish, tie flies and build their own fly rods.
Ilene Hirsh, winner of the 2019 Stan Walters Memorial Tyer of the Year award, is one of only two women to win this award.
